Tempus Fuzz
Tempus Fuzz
Fuzz & Delay utilizing a single PT2399 Delay IC.
Warning: Oscillation and feedback are an integral part of this circuit & all controls are interactive. If you're experiencing runaway oscillation, reduce RECYCLE to minimum and SATURATION beyond 50%.
Controls:
Saturation - Adjusts the intensity of distortion. At lower settings, bass is reduced. **INTERACTS WITH RECYCLE**
Shape - Adjusts the timbre of the distortion and echoes. Below 50%, bass is enhanced. Above 50%, treble frequencies are increased. **INTERACTS WITH RECYCLE**
Recycle - How much signal is fed back in the circuit. Increasing RECYCLE causes the echo to have more repeats, but will cause self-oscillation if increased too much. Be aware that reducing SATURATION & SHAPE causes more signal to be fed to RECYCLE.
Time - Delay time of echoes. Approx. 30ms - 600ms
Balance - Varies the amount of fuzz signal mixed with the echoes. At maximum, the fuzz will be loudest. Reducing lets more echo in the signal, but also filters the frequency response. **INTERACTS WITH RECYCLE**
Volume - Output control.
Mod Switch - Up position activates the envelope controlled modulation. More noticeable at longer delay times. Intensity can be adjusted via internal trimmer.
Momentary Loopback Oscillation Footswitch - causes infinte repeats while the footswitch is held down. NOTE: If RECYCLE is at minimum, the footswitch is not active. Increase RECYCLE to beyond 25% when using the footswitch. The onset time of the infinite repeats can be adjusted via internal trimmer.
Expert Mode - An internal dipswitch enables expert mode which creates a glitchy misbiased fuzz, RECYCLE becomes a primary Bias control, while the other controls acts as trimmers.
True Bypass, 1590BB2 Hand Polished Silkscreened Aluminum Enclosure, Top Mount Jacks, Requires external 9V 2.1mm DC center negative power supply (No Batteries) - using anything other than a 9V DC center negative power supply will cause damage. Current draw under 30 milliamps.
